Manchester has a rich sporting history, from two of the world's leading football clubs, we also have the National Centres for Cycling, Squash, Basketball, Taekwondo, Speedway and Water Polo along with a rich tapestry of National Governing Bodies, clubs, coaches, volunteers and organisations that understand the importance of major sports events.

In keeping with the city’s sporting heritage, Man Met University and the University of Manchester will be coming face to face in the Manchester Universities Varsity sporting series.

This one-week celebration of sporting talent is a classic tale of local rivalry and brings together students from both universities to compete that coinciding with the bicentenary celebrations of both esteemed institutions.
