Celebrating the work of Graduating Students of BA Photography 2025
Structures hold us, shape us, speak through us. They are the frames we see through and the limits we press against. The photograph, too, is a structure: a surface, a container, an arrangement of light and time. But it is also a site of rupture — a space where control slips, where meaning unravels and re-forms.
Within the work presented by this cohort of graduating photography students, structures are not only observed — they are inhabited, stretched, questioned. The camera becomes both conduit and constraint, echoing Vilém Flusser’s notion of the "apparatus" — a black box programmed to enable certain possibilities while foreclosing others. How do we move within this box? How do we step outside it?
